Bijelo Polje je gradsko naselje u opštini Bijelo Polje u Crnoj Gori. Prema popisu iz 2003. bilo je 15883 stanovnika (prema popisu iz 1991. bilo je 16586 stanovnika). 

Bijelo Polje se nalazi u dolini koju preseca planinska reka Lim. Nekada je to zaista bilo polje, s proleća prekriveno cvetovima bele rade, cveta koji je i polju i tamošnjem naselju odredio ime – Bijelo Polje. To je i značenje turskereči Akovo za varoš, nekada poznatu stanicu Dubrovačkih karavana, koja se zvala Nikolj–pazar.

Od svih gradova na severu Crne Gore, Bijelo Polje ima najpovoljniji geografski položaj. Nalazi se na raskrsnici važnih puteva: na pruzi Beograd–Bar, na magistrali koja od Beograda vodi prema moru, dobre su veze Bijelog Polja i prema Pljevljima i Žabljaku, uz kanjon Tare, prema Beranama, Plavu i Rožajama i dalje Ibarskom magistralom prema Srbiji.

U naselju Bijelo Polje živi 11500 punoletnih stanovnika, a prosečna starost stanovništva iznosi 33,2 godina (32,2 kod muškaraca i 34,1 kod žena). U naselju ima 4244 domaćinstva, a prosečan broj članova po domaćinstvu je 3,74.

Stanovništvo u ovom naselju veoma je heterogeno.

 

Bijelo Polje (Montenegrin Cyrilic: Бијело Поље, pronounced [bîjɛlɔː pɔ̂ʎɛ]) is a town in northeastern Montenegro on the Lim River. It has an urban population of 15,400 (2011 census). It is the administrative, economic, cultural and educational centre of northern Montenegro.

Bijelo Polje is the center of Bijelo Polje Municipality (population of 46,051). It is the unofficial center of the north-eastern region of Montenegro. Bijelo Polje means "White Field" in Montenegrin, Serbian and all related South Slavic languages. 

Bijelo Polje was within the Ottoman Empire until its liberation during the Balkan Wars (1912). Under Ottoman rule the city was known as Akova.

Bijelo Polje's Church of Saint Peter and Paul is the place where the famous UNESCO Miroslav's Gospel of Miroslav, brother of the Serb ruler Stefan Nemanja was written.

Bijelo Polje is the administrative centre of the Bijelo Polje municipality, which in 2003 had a population of 50,284. The town of Bijelo Polje itself has 15,883 citizens. According to the latest results from 2010, Bijelo Polje has a population of 46,676.

Bijelo Polje was the birthplace of the oral poet Avdo Međedović and of many prominent writers, such as Ćamil Sijarić,Miodrag Bulatović, as well as popular singer Dado Polumenta. Bijelo Polje is also the birthplace of NBA Center Nikola Peković.

City's best known brand is Rada mineral water, vastly consumed in Montenegro during summer months.

Bijelo Polje is connected to the rest of Montenegro by two motorways. It is situated on the main road connecting Montenegro's coast and Podgorica with northern Montenegro andSerbia (E65, E80).

Bijelo Polje is also a station on Belgrade - Bar railway, the last station in Montenegro for trains leaving for Belgrade, and it serves as a regional train station.

Podgorica Airport is 130 km (81 mi) away, and has regular flights to major European destinations.
